It's amazing when two different artists can come together, combining their talents to make a new twist on an old song.

"Under Pressure," David Bowie & Queen

Turn up your radio for this one, and just let it all out!

(god I love this video)

Ever feel like this?

It's the terror of knowing
What this world is about
Watching some good friends
Screaming let me out
Pray tomorrow takes me higher

I'd change the world if I could change my mind
If I could live beyond my fears
Exchanging unity for all my insecurity
Exchanging laughter for my tears

"Union," Black Eyed Peas featuring Sting

An unexpected complitation between two very different artists, this motivating song reminds me that I can be a better person. Let those black thoughts that hold me back go, and make the change.
Music video begins with interview done on African talk show.

"Misery" Pink, featuring Steven Tyler

I think the quote says it all…

sometimes we get too smart too late

The Saints Are Coming- U2 and Green Day

Performed by U2 and Green live during the first game in the Superdome since Katrina ravaged the city of New Orleans. This song embodies so much of the rage, grief and dispair by those trapped in a city under water. A great cover for this classic Skids song.

Live version- from the superdome. I like this version better because you can feel the power and passion in their words.

A drowning sorrow floods the deepest grief
How long now?
Until the weather change condems belief
How long now?
When the night watchman lets in the thief
How long now?

Check out the music video with its twist of rewriting history to show what should have happened.

Strong women at their finest. This pairing of pop legend Sheryl Crow with the country stylings of the Dixie Chicks produces a song even better than the original. Unfortunately the quality of this taping is not top grade, but you can still feel the sweet blues of this melody.

"Strong Enough" Sheryl Crow, featuring the Dixie Chicks

I have a face I cannot show
I make the rules up as I go
It's try and love me if you can
Are you strong enough to be my man?

Bruce Springsteen, "I'm on Fire"

This searing melody was written by the Boss in the 80's, and always ignites my blood. Between his sultry voice and the haunting instruments, "I'm on Fire" has the power to rekindle lost desires. Check out this passionate live version from earlier days.

Sometimes it's like someone took a knife baby
edgy and dull and cut a six-inch valley
through the middle of my soul

Bop!

Five Things I love About Cyndi Lauper:

1. Who can think about the Goonies without remembering her iconic song "The Goonies 'R' Good Enough."

2. She has such great style, though I don't think I want to use her hairdresser. Check it out some of these great outfits.... http://www.cyndilauperonline.com/

3. I never knew what this song was really about until recently. What can I say? I was sheltered, and had no idea this was on the Filthy Fifteen list.

4. Her classic "She's So Unusual" album cover, shot by Annie Lebowitz

5. Her songs make for great dancing.

Cyndi Lauper, "She Bop"

Hey, hey--they say I better get a chaperone
Because I can't stop messin' with the danger zone
No, I won't worry, and I won't fret
--Ain't no law against it yet--
